Who here thinks he looked better in the 80s?

Here's my first serious venture into drawing Rick Astley realistically.


Process:

I saved a picture of Rick from Google Images and took it into Gimp.

I created a new layer and decreased the opacity of that layer.

I traced over the basic lineart of the background onto the new layer.

I colored and shaded the new layer, using the background as a guide.

I set the new layer's opacity to 50 and exported the entire thing as a JPG file.

I took the JPG file into Gimp again (this time with only one layer) and blurred some of the edges (the outline and some lines on the face and clothing) and I smoothed out the hair a bit.

I added a title to the drawing and signed it and saved it again as a JPG, replacing the original drawing with the updated version.

And this is what I came up with. Tell me if you like it!
